you can see peak 3134 from much of that hike, so it's been on the list
hit up lp for a new peak that we could do and get home in time for football playoffs
about a mile and a half road walk, looking all the while at peak 3269, dome mountain and peak 3134
a cairned use trail goes up to the saddle between dome and 3134
took the right turn and continued up
well-defined and well-cairned trail to the summit
didn't see a benchmark or register
went east a bit on the ridgeline and considered going to peak 3089
neither of us felt like putting the time and effort into it, so we had a snack on 3134 and headed back down
nice views from up there of four peaks, superstitions and snow covered mazzies
could also see golden dome and tuff dome
the road walk on the return wasn't as scenic, but passed quickly
maybe not quite enough of a hike, but a good peak with good company
another fun experience in the goldfields |
