| no partners | | | Pretty cold temps (low 30's) and slightly weary travel bones put a damper on us climbing to the plateau opposite the beautiful Subterranean City, Matera, the second oldest continually occupied city in the world. Trekked into a few caves, amazed to learn that people resided in some of these until the mid-1950s, when Italian authorities forced the occupants out due to health and sanitation issues. Another place to return in warmer climate. |
