I got an early start for this one considering its trailhead location at Logan's Pass, which opened just days before I went. There was a grizzly down at the lake, so nobody wanted to go further than the overlook, but I found another solo hiker that was willing to go down to the lake and we hiked down together and back. Micro spikes were perfect for this hike with the early morning hard snow. A lot of hikers were either skinning up the open slops or carrying skis and snowboards for their return trips.I started the hike to nearly nobody on the trails and finished to a full parking spot. The average wait time for a spot at Logan's pass is 12 minutes, so go early, or bring patience. |
