| no partners | | Blake and I picked this canyon to go down a couple years ago as it's one rappel after another. In other words, it's a good canyon to work on your skills and practice, practice, practice, in a short-ish span of time. We went down by ourselves and were confused/perplexed/scared by the choices that previous canyoneers had made in terms of rigging, position of anchor points, and such. This time we hired an outfitter to take us through and had him explain, very patiently, why this "dead man" anchor is appropriate, why that anchor point was "way, way over the edge", and how to evaluate a drop so as to minimize potential injury and maximize fun. Both times we were in water only to mid-shin to mid-thigh. We in no way made an effort to accurately document the event (other than some photos), but wanted to mention the canyon here for other adventurists. The canyon has been documented in the following webpages for those that are interested. We found their descriptions and photos to be very helpful. If I recall correctly, there are also a couple YouTube videos you can watch for information. Be safe!
