The estimates of 60-120/hour were well short of what we actually saw. The longest I counted without seeing one was 65 seconds, and most other times it was not more than 10-15 seconds between them, and several times there were more than one simultaneously.
Definitely worth a midweek night in the desert!
I took four photos. Two managed to capture a streak in the direction of the camera, bright enough to be seen in what was otherwise a 30 or 60 second exposure. I have absolutely no idea how to take star and meteor photos!  |
