The narrow gauge tracks were removed in 1952, eventually creating a "rails to trails opportunity." Today, the Telluride Nordic Center grooms the former track area near Trout Lake, along the rail gradient. The nordic trail has excellent views of Lizard Head and free parking along highway 145. It's the first local nordic trail system to open with snow every season, and the last to close. |
