The dog and I hiked up McClure Canyon after turning off of Garden Canyon Road above the upper picnic area on the Fort Huachuca reservation. From the truck, we walked about a half mile before reaching a fork in the rocky, unimproved road, and took a left. This is where we saw the sign for McClure Canyon. At first, you just travel up an unimproved road, but after maybe a mile (ish) it narrows into an interesting foot-only path. The follows a waterway for a while that treats you to some interesting step-formations that would be almost waterfalls after a heavy rain. As you continue up the mountain, the flora changes from typical Arizona to more pine-forest. Higher up, the trail can be a little un-obvious, but there are orange ribbons on some trees and we built some small rock cairns to help with navigation. The dog and I ended up turning around because of time (and lack of snack) considerations, but I believe if you were to continue, you'd hit the peak trail and could follow it over to Huachuca Peak.
