| partners | | After Atascosa Lookout John and I headed over to take a look around the old mining town of Ruby. Upon arrival we saw the sign that said 12.00 per person to enter. We spoke to the friendly Caretaker who confirmed this price. 24 bucks for 20 minutes of looking around seemed a bit steep so we headed out. I showed John where there is a trail that leads down to the Dam at Ruby lake. We followed it and then took another trail down to the Ruby beach. Wind was blowing so hard that the dust was kicking up into our eyes. We stayed just long enough to take a look at the town of Ruby from across the sandy beach.
Along the way we would see evidence of recent immigrant travel. I would say it wasn't more than a couple months old. Carpet shoes and camouflage water bottles were amongst the items that were discarded. Interesting to see for sure. |
