We started this hike from the McGurk Meadow trailhead. From there we hiked out to Dewey Point and back.If we are just talking about the trail and not including destination, this may be my favorite trail of this years Yosemite trip. Mild up and downs, meadows(with frost),frosty little bridge, plenty of trees, Lots of small and huge pine cones and some good views at Dewey point. You also get to see Jack McGurk's old cabin (Pre 1900) which was cool. With the old Cabin and mine at Gaylor Lakes and now this cabin it turned out to be some interesting history of the area. We also had the trail to ourselves until half way back from Dewey Point . Very enjoyable start to our Glacier Point Road adventures for the day. Later on in the day we would see a BEAR in the same area . Possible eating on a Deer. Maybe roadkill...? Great Morning ! |
