carney was full when we got there around 8:00
the approach for this climb goes right past the wave cave, so i stopped in long enough to take two photos
only three people there, so maybe the crowds were on the ridgeline?
off trail to the base of carney springs wall
six pitches, mike led all of them
he belayed fletch and i together on three of them to save time
the crux was a chute on the third pitch - this one also had a fun chockstone to climb around
new bolts at the belays - a little crowded with three at the fourth and fifth belay
kinda hard to hear on the fifth pitch as there was a helicopter rescue at the wave cave 
we had planned to rappel off, but between the sketchy slung boulder at the top, the crowded belays and party of three, decided on the walk off
in climbing shoes 
quite a bushwhack to the north, then down a gully and sidehill to the base of the wall
it was nice to get down to the wave cave trail after all that
i enjoyed the climbing, and the backcountry aspect definitely adds to the adventure
long day and a lot of off trail for me
we earned our dinner at oregano's
always good to get out with mike and fletch
