| partners | | had a permit for south canyon on sunday night. we decided to drive up friday night, camp in flag, continue the drive up saturday morning, and then hike up to saddle mountain.
neither of us have been to this area. we were blown away! SO STUNNING.
we started on the trail, but then quickly made a wrong turn, and ended up on a trail that took us to the top of a hill with a big cairn and a dead end. so we just started going up. stormy weather on and off the whole way up & down. lots of rainbows. deep snow in some of the ravines. lots of dead plants with sharp pokies. didn't do too much exploring at the top because it was snowing, but over all it was a very enjoyable off trail route to the summit. |
