| no partners | | | On my last fall trip, I ended up in a church in Connecticut. I was visiting some of my mothers family history. [ photoset ] This trip, I researched some of my fathers family history. I stopped my research when I found Maj Peter Keenan(Penn 8th Calvary, Civil War.) https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/629 ... ter-keenan I didnt find any direct bloodlines to my family, but I still wanted to visit this gravesite. While physically searching for his grave, I found a few other Keenans buried here. The oldest being buried in 1849. I was fortunate enough to be there at the same time as one of the groundskeepers. This 93 year old woman was amazing. Her family ties, to this church, went back to the 1800s. Her knowledge of the church was fascinating. I talked with here for a while about the history of the church and the people in the area. She also opened up the church to let me look around. This was one of my favorite stops of this trip. |
