Well, I'm still finding snakes in November, and they're thirsty. I saw one coachwhip. He was obviously dehydrated. He was thin, slow for a coachwhip, and its poop was hard (he tried to poop on me when I caught it).

He tried to bite me but he could not strike very well. As soon as I start spraying water on him (I carry a spray bottle with me when I hike in the desert), he calmed down and started drinking right away. I grew impatient, so I dunked his head in the water to get him to drink faster. He drank for about a half hour and took up more than half of the water I had. Video:

On the next day (11/7), I saw a baby patch-nosed snake that also drank water. Snakes are stressed due to the drought, so I'm doing my part to give them water when I can. I've never seen so many thirsty reptiles.
