| no partners | | Climbed San Jacinto using the Marion Mountain trail near Idyllwild. the TH was full but people were spread out and it never seemed crowded at all except for the short 0.3 mile spur to the summit when you meet up with the tram crowd.
the ascent is pretty steep and mostly through glorious forest. it mellows out briefly in a few spots but not much. i thoroughly enjoyed the ascent, and a lot of it is shaded. Little Round Valley campground on the way up is a cool spot.
I spent about 15 minutes on the summit having a snack. uneventful downhill. i jogged some of it, but a lot is too steep to do so. got quite warm on the bottom.
