We arrived at the Douglas Springs campsite in about 4 hours. It was uphill the entire way. My wife is in excellent shape but I pushed her a little too hard so we settled on staying here overnight.
Though I was a little disappointed it turned out to be a great overnighter for us. She ended up having a blast. The monsoons were not over and they let us know it with an 8hr down poor that night. Even so my wife loved it. The douglas campsite was not anything to write home about upon first glance, but it has a permanent restroom and bear lockers and the actual campsites are nice and somewhat private.
Next time we will take it a bit slower pace, but we will make the manning camp or bust! |
