I slipped about a mile from the campground and twisted my knee, but managed to hobble the rest of the way. A field of yellow wildflowers helped distract me and ease the pain of falling behind. Despite the injury we arrived at the prime beach front property close to 2:30pm. Just about a 4 hour hike in at a fast pace.
After setting up camp, we took a little dip (the icy water was early physical therapy for the knee) and then built a campfire. It rained off and on through out the rest of the day and evening. The cloud cover must have kept the warmth in as the evening temperature was really nice. The morning brought sunny skies with a few fierce clouds rolling through. A truly gorgeous hike with a variety of terrain. |
