After a visit to the Visitor Center, Rudy and I hiked up to the to of El Morro ( the nose) Mesa. It’s a quick hike to the top, after the heavy rains since las week in New Mexico, footing was a bit slick on the wet sandstone and polished rock at the summit. Recommend approach shoes for stability.
Upon reaching the top, there was a crew of Native NPS workers shoring up a wall that had collapsed from the recent rains. They were also adding more drainage for the ruins. They were happy to answer all of my questions about their work and the dwellings.
This is a dog friendly hike too. |
