| no partners | | We did a little overnighter in the Supes for New Years. The plan of our 4 person group was to hit the Dutchman from the Peralta TH at 10 AM. However; we got a late start on New Year's Day due to some equipment problems that some of our group were having. We got it all worked out and did not start the hike until 2 PM.
We had a beautiful and uneventful hike back to our campsite where Dutchman meets Bluff Springs. We arrived right at sundown and just had enough day light to set up camp. The Bluff Spring still has plenty of water running.
The next morning, we did a little day hike a little further up Dutchman's to a nice hilltop view and then returned to camp for lunch. We planned on starting our hike out to the TH via Bluff Springs trail at 1:30 PM. But, more delays came up and we did not start back until 4 PM. We ended up doing the last hour and a half of our hike in the dark. It was VERY slow hiking in the dark and coming down Bluff Springs. You had to pay very close attention to every step. But all and all it was a great trip! |
