Abbreviated the loop to just go up hog and then down the closer hieroglyphic canyon, rather than down siphon draw.

Parked at the west end of cloudview road. Access is getting more and more limited at the start due to new homes going up. Once you cross the fence line and properly get into the wash, there’s a pretty good trail east of the wash that goes most of the way to the canyon. Hard to find, but once you get on track it’s much easier going than hopping through the wash. Tons of water once I got into the narrow section of hog canyon. Gorgeous canyon and feels quite isolated and secluded.

Hiked up above the falls (which were really flowing), first to the left and then right, and made it up to the large shelf. After enjoying the views of the distant waterfalls pouring off the ridgeline, I made a pretty quick climb up onto the main ridge/spine. Some loose rock and quick elevation gain, but fairly straightforward. I kept thinking I could go around the rocky formations along the ridge, but I’d say you’re best off just getting to the top of most of them. The ridge flattens out towards the end and is incredibly beautiful. Tougher going than I expected but not horrible. I have to wonder what the climb would have been like along the creek/canyon bed.

Snow on the ridgeline and beautiful views of weavers. Down hieroglyphic canyon into a paradise of waterfalls. Incredible water flows. Walked down to hieroglyphic trailhead and then the last mile across cloudview to get back to my car. Great mini ridgeline run.

I don’t think the flows last too long in Hog, but it was really going. Tons of water in upper hieroglyphic canyon, I was blown away
