| no partners | | After getting my butt kicked by school and work for three straight weeks, retaining my sanity required a red rock fix. I hit the trail early, and it was well worth it. The only souls I saw on the hike in was a lone Pink Jeep. I had Chicken Point all to myself. I definitely cherished the solitude as such is likely a rare occurrence at Chicken Point. I wanted to check out Submarine Rock on the way back, but I got mixed up leaving the point and wasted about 20 minutes on an unmarked spur of the Little Horse Trail. Once I regained my bearings I decided against Submarine Rock, but no matter, it allowed me to do some rock hounding. I got some cool samples to show my Geology prof on Tuesday! Also got to try out my new camera (Canon Powershot A590), which I'm pretty happy with so far. Basically, this hike was a much needed, all out blast. Screw school and work....I wanna get paid to run around on slick-rock all day! |
