The other Colorado River has a decent network of trails to various attractions. Starting from Gorman Trailhead we hiked to the main attraction in the 60 foot waterfall which was really a spring fed travertine flow near the river. Took a break before moving on.
Then we hiked another few miles to Gorman Spring which was really nice area and very few people. Crystal clear water at the spring source coming out of the rock which is mostly limestone in this area. The trail also runs along the spring fed creek and nice riparian area for about 1/2 mile.
From the spring we hiked over to the Colorado River overlook. The overlook was on the limestone cliff with views of the Colorado River and surrounding countryside. Lots of live oak and prickly pear cactus! After that we headed back to the trailhead. |
