Initially, I intended to check out a section of the Salt River corridor. As it turned out I discovered several other options for the area.

This appears to be a good doable challenge. However, I just stumbled upon it and wasn't prepared with proper wear or water. Check out the map and give it a try.

The last two miles of 4x4 necessary to reach the trailhead may be a little too much for some. It's a long haul, though I don't think it's as wicked as Devil's Canyon. It's probably best to bring a friend with a backup vehicle as this area is very remote. Personally, I wouldn't risk it with tires in question or over twenty thousand miles of use. Fair warnings aside, I thought it was a blast!

If you're looking for the Alder Creek Trail #82 I recommend looking at the map very carefully

notice the red line and where Alder Creek Trail continues
Initially, I was off to an overlook south of Alder and before I knew it I was headed UP!
