Isolation, beauty, red rock galore, running water, reflecting pools, ponderosa pines, sycamores, Arizona maples, bigtooth maples, not to mention all the glorious sounds of nature.
Best of all . . . I saw 3 people in 3 days!! It was so utterly beautiful, so powerful, quiet, & peaceful, so magical & mystical as to be spiritual and transcendent!! Very similar in ways to West Fork but with a wilder feel.
Lots of water still available for filtering. Good campsites in hidden spots so keep your eyes peeled up and down stream at creek crossings. Water temps and depths are perfect for creek trompin' in search of photo opps.
Beware of poison ivy everywhere: fully mature, shiny & new, lots of bare branches with micro leaves that will get ya too. If it's sandy and near a creek crossing, keep your eye out.
Note too lots of bugs. Flies, gnats, and toward dusk and near the creek, no shortage of mosquitoes. 25% DEEt was invaluable.
