| partners | | | Pam’s Annual New Year’s Day Peak Bag tradition continued with a trek up Black Cross Butte, a peak renowned for its outlook over the Salt River Canyon and the Superstition Mountains. The weather kept things interesting—clouds and mist wrapped the landscape, but every so often the sky parted just enough to reveal quick, tantalizing views. After reaching the top, we celebrated with Pam’s legendary cookies, chocolate‑dipped strawberries, and a New Year’s toast of champagne and sparkling cider. |

Brittlebush were in bloom but not much else. There was an isolated sighting of Mexican Gold Poppies. |
