I haven't seen him in a long time and it was good to catch up. He has hiked and mtn. biked here before and I figured it's within and hour and has cell phone coverage. So I met him at 124th st. We both took our dogs on a nice hike. Did see the Quartz sign requiring a permit on the way back. 
It had been knocked down and was upside down on the side of the trail. We dropped into a wash trail on the way up prior to that part of the trail, but it connected and we came down the Quartz trail. Did the old jeep/ ring tail on the way down for a change of scenery. Nice temps and change of scenery for me.
