From the East Rim Viewpoint, dropped down ER#7 and continued down on NC#4. Near the mouth of North Canyon, turned south on a mix of cross country and abandoned dirt tracks headed towards South Canyon trail, with the intermittent rocky ridges of the Cockscombs on my left. Up SC#6 to the rim, hopped on my mountain bike (stashed the night before) and rode west on FR610 a few miles to the AZT40 crossing, stashed the bike again and hiked NOBO back to the start.

Only water on AZT40 was in a small scuzzy tank next to Sourdough Well.
