| partners | | Haven't been out to these CCC ruins in years and thought it would a good one to show my buddy.
Only partly cloudy skies as we started down the long dirt road to the site.
Arrived to quickly remember what a very cool AZ history site it is.
We looped around and through the camp that once housed 200 men for the areas watershed projects.
5 rock structures still stand along with the rock outlines of the barracks, mess hall, shower hut & latrine.
On the hike back out we had lightning & thunder to the east and snow falling on Graham to the west!
We also found a few desert poppies and collected several saffordites to bring home.
Awesome AZ history, scenic weather & with a good friend ...

| no partners | | Took "Ole Blue" (Jeep) up Soloman Pass Rd from the airport.
Parked at the top of the pass, then hiked a couple miles down/up on the GET #12 trail.
Did a little 4x4 on some side roads before ending with a drive out to the Sanchez CCC Camp.
Loop hiked the ruins and then headed back home.
Great weather scenery, 2 good short hikes & I'm now lovin "Ole Blue"!!! |

| no partners | | Started hiking from the top of Soloman Pass.
Took the road down/up north just a couple of miles towards Gila Box.
Great scenery as always with many nice cactus blooms along the way.
Then drove out to the CCC Camp and looped the ruins.
Very cool place to visit, have always been fascinated with the CCC history.
Stormy lookin clouds overhead most of the trip with cool temps.
Good day out & around the pass! |

| no partners | | Decided to hike the 3.6 mile dirt road in to the camp and get some miles in this afternoon.
BLM has put up some new identification signs all around the camp ruins since my last visit giving the area kind of a Ft Bowie-ish feeling. I had forgotten just how big this CCC camp was and the new signs were very helpful as I walked around the old structures. What a cool place to wander around and a must see for all who find the CCC and their work as fascinating as I do! |

| no partners | | Haven't been out to the CCC camp ruins in over 10 years and had forgotten about this unique site until the local paper ran a recent article about it. Drove out and spent a couple of late afternoon hours exploring the ruins and surrounding area of this cool little piece of Graham County history. I'm so glad I rediscovered this site!
