Had to come up with a plan B on the fly and took off back down Stockton Pass where the storms were not as thick. Chose a hike to Bark Trick Tank in the Greasewoods which I had just discovered a few months earlier and have wanted to see again during the non-hunting season. Took off down the FS road under light on and off rain and made it down to the awesome hidden valley meadow at the trail's end. Spent a short time at the meadow getting my pics as the rain then became a steady pour and never let up the whole hike back, I got soaked! On the drive home I stopped for a bit and hiked through one of the fantastic boulder fields found alongside Stockton Pass road to end this cold & wet, but very fun trip! |
