| no partners | | | I did the east fork of the Y first. The hike description is right; the views are better here than on the west fork. From the west fork I dropped down the backside and climbed to the plateau high above Inspiration Point. Whoops! I went too high and couldn't get off the plateau from the other side. I had to backtrack my way through a cholla minefield and across a ridge to reach Inspiration Point. Good views of Tortilla Flat from the ridge. A few more weeks and it'll be too hot to do these off-trail routes. |
