I will probably not do this hike again. It was fairly boring as you are following an Open Road the entire time. It didn't feel much like a hike, more like I was trying to get to help from a stranded car or something, because you're just walking on a gravel road that a Honda Accord can drive up. I suppose if the gate is closed and there's snow it could be fun to go up with snow shoes, since the view from the top is pretty nice but other than that I will probably not use my own energy to get to the top of this peak again.

We needed to get out on the trail, so we took the family on a short hike close to Pocatello, and picked this trail, knowing that a lot of other trails would still be under feet of snow. The day was windy but not too cold. Near the top the wind picked up and the snow got deep (at least for hiking). Suddenly we see a crazy runner at the peak, wearing running shorts, of course. Then again, who's talking, because our son was nearly dressed the same.
We enjoyed getting out on the hills, and celebrated with some Vanilla Milk by Darigold.
