| partners | | Was originally going to go to Harrison Lake, but it’s closed due to a moose incident, so we opted for Gem Lake instead. This area has a ton of great trail options.
Warm and muggy as we headed uphill, but the trail had a lot of shade. Tons of bugs though. The trail is short and steep, but in good condition. All the vegetation swallowed the trail in places, and was taller than the kids.
At the lake, the kids swam in the water while I tried to avoid mosquitoes. Quick hike back downhill and we were back to the car pretty quickly. Didn’t see anyone else on the trail, but there was a tent set up at the trailhead.
Since we still had some time to kill, we drove up to the Lunch Peak Lookout, which had great views. Crap road though. Nothing requiring a ton of clearance, just super rough the entire way. |
