| no partners | | Decided to complete a hike with Dese close to home this afternoon. Low eighties when we started, so it was quite pleasant heading up the hill from FR 29. Some 2A nutrition waist channels left a bunch of shotgun shells along the 1245 road that I'll plan on picking up and hauling out another time. At the tank, we startled a large bull elk that bolted into the forest, leaving a large dust cloud behind. We gained the summit by ascending the less-vegetated north slope. After a brief break, we dropped north and then followed the Highline east, eventually integrating some of the other forest roads in the area into a lasso loop. Always fun exploring a new part of the neighborhood. Many of the ancillary roads have recently been plowed, likely because of the Dude Fire Restoration Project that the Tonto National Forest et al. has started.
Nice work so far fellas! |
