Opted for this duo of lakes today. No other vehicles at the trailhead when I arrived shortly after 0800. Headed up to Snow Lake first. Easy trail, mostly old road. Several water crossings, but kept my feet dry. Snow Lake was small, but scenic, with very clear water. Fast hike back downhill. Saw four riders on horses and chatted with them for a moment.

Headed over to Bottleneck Lake next. Again, easy trail on an old road, with several small water crossings. Upon arriving at the lake, where the trail met the water, there were two nude men, who had just finished swimming and seemed to be having a romantic…moment. I made a snarky comment about the water appearing to be cold and moved on to another viewpoint of the lake a little farther to the west. Had a quick snack and headed back downhill.

Probably the easiest 12.50 mile/2500’ aeg hike I’ve ever done. Really felt like only about 1200’ with how easy the trails were. Not overly exciting trails, but a nice day.
