Quick Trips for Photos and other Things in July...

Papago Park x 3 - The Pied Billed Grebes had Babies...Between Them and the Herons, also both Young and Old, it was a very Entertaining Week that Week... :y: Hope you all like Baby Pictures... :sweat:

Scenic Drive to Payson - Helping out a Friend along the Beeline Highway :)

Scenic Drive to Sunflower - What started out as a Sunset Shoot in the Four Peaks Area, turned into a Lightning Chase that lasted until Midnight... :lol:

Quick Trip to Payson for Rappelling Practice - Interesting Practice Session...Did a little Experiment from something I had seen someone else do and it didn't work out too well...Guess that sort of Deal only works with certain Scenarios and being on a Free Hang isn't one of them...But...That's why we Practice... :sweat: Flowing Springs has some Nice Areas to Practice and it's much Cooler than Phoenix right now...I took some Shots while I was there, waiting for my Friend to show up... :)

It's a Photo Bomb for sure this Month... :D

Please clean up after yourself and others. I have been going to this part of the East Verde since the late 80's and it is only getting worse. It is a nice spot to stop at en route to another hike, to stop and have lunch or just explore a little. The problem is the large amounts of trash left and damage done to the environment. If we don't start taking care of the area there won't be much left.

Zuma nailed this one. The east valley "beelines' it up to creeks around Payson. They trash up the area then "beeline" it back home without cleaning up. As mentioned the old men are protecting their area as best they know how. BE CAREFUL! I'm not condoning it but... think if you'd like hordes of partygoers taking over your cul-de-sac. It's the same type of encounter when buying gas at small town in Texas... shut up I'm entitled, Oklahoma boy here!

The "trail" naming is light at best. I've listed it as just Flowing Springs. Streamside scurry would be more accurate. I went in May of '87. The trip reminded me of Rarick Canyon for enthusiasm. You just feel like there must be something better around. I prefer the Ellison Creek area myself.

What's confusing is the History section in Streamside Trails on this trip. They chat about King S Woolsey but I didn't see the connection with this area. I guess he passed through or owned the land??? Interestingly enough Woolsey Peak over thirty miles southwest of Phoenix was named after the man. The trail summary for Woolsey Peak was received 27 minutes after this one... ya think King's presence is desiring a little attention? What do I need... a garlic clove... no that's vampires... I'm outta here!
