The approaches are longer now compared to when this area was State Trust and accessible with a wheeler. It doesn't seem like many climbers get out there anymore since the crag approaches are substantially overgrow with Brittlebush. There's an aggressive bee colony at the base of [ Cholla Mountain / Far Side The ] , so the routes there can't safely be climbed currently. I heard their buzzing before reaching the base and skedaddled as soon as some of them started assertively marking me with some head bumping. Sometimes one can surprise themselves with a maneuvering berserker downhill rate when it's absolutely necessary. Overall, the trails are flat and monotonous but still it's fortunate for most of us that the area wasn't developed into more sprawl. |
