A little harder if you stay to right of arete.

Really nice
We started, as usual, in full sun on the Alcatraz Wall, on a cool bluebird day. There are several middle level routes and good lead opportunities for beginning climber just learning trad. We did five routes here (two from the same anchors), then moved to Mr. Meanor Wall to finish up with two good 5.8 routes. Lots of great climbing at all levels of difficulty in a nice area with lots of beautiful rock. Would imagine this spot would get fairly crowded on weekends, but only saw 4 other people this Wednesday. I was going to record a track on my iphone on the way out but forgot. Next time. Approach takes about 15 minutes and is not very difficult, even with gear. Park at Prison Camp TH.

Cold mid-morning start to this hike. Plenty of water due to recent rain and snowfall in the range. Joseph did summit.

Joel decided to take a day-off from our "hiking therapy" so I went with a group to Thimble Peak. There was frost everywhere when we started out. Fun little scramble but I seem to not like watching others do the climby parts.

A rather late start for as warm as it's been. The Palisade Trail is way overgrown; at times route finding was slow.
Total sun exposure most of the way. There was plenty of water in the lower drainages.
