I started at the waterfall canyon trailhead, hiked back to see the petroglyph plaza and the now dry waterfall, then returned to my truck to "gear up" and head off to mesquite canyon. I went up mesquite canyon to willow canyon and stopped for a short rest at willow spring before continuing on. I turned south on the ford canyon trail and proceeded to the goat camp trail. I followed the goat camp trail back to the 1st picnic area, then followed the road back to the black rock trail which connected back up with the waterfall canyon trail. This was a pretty cool loop to hike. While not terribly strenuous, it had lots of ups and downs, and twists and turns with lots of great surprises. |
