This sucker is steep. It is a knee buster and calf buster. Be prepared. No water, and no shade! HIt the river and a small cave on to the Black Bridge. Bright Angel Campground is beautiful. Perfect place to spend a couple of days.

Awesome views of the river for the first coupla miles, then into a side canyon and another creek running. More vegetation than I expected. Easy 5 miles to Indian Garden. Rest up and recuperate. Next 4.5 miles are tough with a pack and water may or may not be there. Also be aware of mule trains they are in Indian Garderns around 10 am.

Steep up until you hit first mesa and then steady. Once you get to second mesa you can walk end to end. One end has beautiful view of Sedona, the other a perfect shot down Oak Creek Canyon and the San Francisco Peaks in the back. Quick down.
