Our first hike in the Superstition Mountains and we loved it! Cloudy day but no rain. Temperatures were great for hiking. Left around 9:30. We met two large groups along the way, one at the beginning and another going up to Black Mesa. Lots of birds along most of the way. Lots of views of Weaver's Needle. Had lunch at the intersection of the Black Mesa and Dutchman trails. In the last half mile, had two turkey vultures fly low over us and got great views of them.

Will be sure to do more hikes in the Superstition Mountains when we're down for our annual Spring Training trips!!

Our first hike in the Seven Springs area. We had sun and the temperatures were around 65-70 degrees. We were the first at the trailhead and left around 9:00. We couldn't believe all the grass we saw growing along the creek. Also lots of water running through Cave Creek. We saw only two people on horse back for the whole hike and that was just before lunch. Lots of flowers and green vegetation through out the trip. We ate lunch at the last crossing of Cave Creek before we headed up the Skunk Tank trail. Skunk Tank was really full of water. Looks like some small trees that would normally be on dry land were in a foot of water. At the summit the views were great. There were only three other cars and the trailhead when we got back. One of the nice things of hiking during the week.
