I maintain this trail. As of the end of June 2013 the trail has been cleared, tread repaired in some places and easy to follow for the entire 2 miles when it dead ends. The trail is marked with trail tape in places and rock cairns. The route to the Davis Spring trail with which it once connected has yet to be found. There is no reliable water other than during monsoon season or late winter snow melt runoff. At other times there may be a small pool or two below the cabin site - use a filter. Easy hike going down, strenuous climbing back out.

During the months of June and July 2010 I've cleared and marked the Knagge trail for 2.3 miles from the TH on Incinerator Ridge. It's now easy to follow the trail using cairns or surveyor's tape flags. The end point of the clearing work is at UTM E 529130.82, N 3586724.72, descending from an altitude of 8071 feet at the TH to 6583.4 feet at the end of the clearing work.

After clearing the Red Ridge trail, I've started trail maintenance on the Box Camp and expect to clear it down to Apache. It's been many years since I visited the Box Springs trail, and then it was overgrown with Deer Brush and many deadfalls. If time permits after finishing Box Camp, I'd like to do some work on Box Springs. Since some of you folks have recently visited it, I'd very much appreciate a GPS route or some GPS waypoints to help guide me as I work the trail. Thanks.
