Started out going towards the swing by a thunderstorm made us turn back. Hung out under the bridge on the connector for fun before calling it a day. First outing since the February Bears Ears death hike and all the health stuff, so feeling pretty alright about it overall.

Been months since I was able to actually hike, so I went out and did this. Went up the trail but came back down the road since the are so many switchbacks on the trail. 3 miles up, 1 mile back down lol.

Near the house so I thought I'd check it out. Great if you like hiking next to a freeway on pavement with the connector trail fenced off. Otherwise probably not worth the effort, but at least there's elevation to it. Been so busy that the chance to get outside, even on this, was welcome.

It was a nice day so I rode the scooter down to Edson Fichter and spent some time contemplating. Weather is starting to improve and the day was nice when the sun was out but a touch cold when the sun went behind the clouds. I'm glad to know that my scooter has the range to get to this trail.

70 degrees, so it was time to get outside and enjoy the day! I got an electric scooter as an early birthday present from my girlfriend, so I was eager to try it out as a way to get to trailheads. Scooted on over with no problem and hiked up from the lowest trailhead. No flowers yet but a gorgeous day.

Another nice day, but snow early in the week ensured that the unpaved trails were muddy. Still, it was a chance to go out and put miles on my feet which I was glad to take. I extended the pond loop by hiking the levee trail, which adds another little mile or so to what is possible with just the pond.

Great hike today, probably my favorite in Pocatello yet, though it was longer than advertised, as per usual. Saw deer, moose, grouse, and other wildlife. Plus the forests and creeks were delightful in the morning light and coolness. Still a bit smokey, but a minor complaint. Some leaves are starting to turn...
