Started at 3pm. This a great short summer afternoon hike for working stiffs. Starting across the cactus patch at this time of day in summer can be brutal, but, in approx 40 min, you're 15 degrees cooler in the shade of Bird canyon where there is always a great down draft. I recommend this hike as an alternative to Blacketts Ridge which has no shade at all.

Bridalveil Falls was barely dripping. No water pool. You'll have to squeeze water from the moss covering the fall.
