Hiked from Buena Vista to around Pima. Great hike. Jogged part of the way. A lot of people out, but all so friendly.

I've gotten lazy and have been doing this hike more than I care for. Although I am trying to run this instead of hike, so I guess thats good at least.

This trail has sorta become my, "I dont feel like hiking today, but I've gotta do something" trail. I started off with intentions of hiking the National Trail to the Mormon Trail to the Geronimo Trail. Just after Fat Man's Pass though my hip started hurting so I had to turn back and only got 3 of 6.6 miles done. I think my hips have been bothering me because I skipped last weeks hiking trip. Since I began hiking my hips have felt better (I have problems with my sciatic nerve). Ahh well. Maybe next time.

My third time on this trail. Ive been sick this week so I decided to go for just a short, easy hike. My main computer is messed up so I cant upload pictures from my camera, so my memory cards are full, and my battery was dead anyway so I wasnt able to bring my camera. It was unfortunate too because I saw the most gorgeous sunrise (and later that day I got to see the sunset from the same place which was also gorgeous). I kept kicking myself for not having a camera. Anyway, it was a nice hike. I went to Fat Man's Pass and turned back.

This hike was good. I've been meaning to go here for awhile, but I never actually did. I was in the mood for something easier since I had a rough week, so I decided to go for it. There were a lot of people (as expected), but it was fun. I hung out at Fat Man's Pass for awhile before heading on to the natural tunnel. I saw an interesting little paragraph etched into a wall (I'll post pictures as soon as I can get my camera to work again). It said something about "If read...be ye ready for...not what ye may think...of man..." A lot of it was hard to read, but thats what I can remember. It's four, maybe five lines and is etched above this nifty little rock seat. Has anybody else seen this? I'm curious about it. I'm thinking not a lot of people see it because 1) its not too visible and 2) everyone seems to rush past it. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this. Plenty of variety. Very easy parts, less easy parts, Fat Man's Pass, natural tunnel, petroglyphs, nifty rock formations, crawling over, under, and through rocks. I also finally saw a few coyotes hanging out on the mountainside too!

Not sure what this trail might be called, but I started off at Buena Vista and where the first trail marker was (said National Trail) I turned right. I headed up a hill, down the hill, and up another hill, and ended up going down the side of the mountain. The views are great on the first hill (you're literally on top!), and you can see north and south, and also occasionally east or west. The trail had a lot of gravel, and I had to go somewhat slow downhill to avoid slipping. There was a man who ran past me; I was quite impressed with him!

This was my second trip along this trail, only going north to south this time. I spent a long time taking photos and just sitting in the valley enjoying the silence. The hum of the city was barely heard from in the valley, and I only ran into a couple people the whole time. Somehow I lost the trail at a large wash. I couldn't find my way, so I just turned back. Parking is definitely a pain though for this trail (at the north end). I did as suggested on this site and parked at the Mormon trailhead then walked the half mile to the Geronimo trailhead. Not bad, but shame there isnt anything easier. This trail definitely wins with me due to the solitude it provides. Of course, I like to go at sunrise. I notice people tend to come as I'm leaving, so all is good.

This trail was okay. I was amazed at the number of people who were on it. The views were nice and I got some good pictures, but the crowd kinda ruined it. I ended up with not enough water less than 2 miles into it so I had to turn back.

My first trip along the Geronimo Trail. It was fun. I saw only a couple bikers going down whom were grateful I stepped aside for them. Some very nice views and some very nice desert along the way. I got low on water so I turned back.
