Used the Pipeline Trail as shortcut to go from Super Trail to Kent Spring Trail on way up Four Sprints Trail to McCleary Peak. Just under 0.4 miles from the Super Trailhead we went through and eroded cut and saw a track in the eroded left bank that proved to be the Pipeline Trail - there was no pipeline here, but up the ridge we quickly came across the pipeline and generally followed it until reaching the Kent Spring Trail at a stream bed. We passed a pipeline and track on the left of the Super Trail at around 0.3 miles, but this was not the right way to go.

The spring is flowing but the trail from the crest has blow downs you have to crawl over (can not go around) and there is illegal activity in the area, so not safest place to camp. For water better to use Bathtub Springs which is nearby. Bear Spring not on official water source listing - http://www.aztrail.org/watersources.html.

Very hard to find this spring, so better to try the very dependable and right on the trail Bathtub Spring. Not on official water source listing - http://www.aztrail.org/watersources.html.

Spring flows well, but trail to spring has blow down blockages and vegetation encroachments.
