The air was crisp. The scenery was breathtaking and everyone's mood was upbeat! We ran into snow on the Eastfork Trail. It wasn't enough to make the trail treacherous. But it did add a fun aspect to the hike
We only saw two other people on the Eastfork and upper Bear Canyon Trail. One very military looking man was flat flying down the trail! We saw his tracks in the snow all the way around the loop. Another lone hiker was enjoying the day on the upper Bear Canyon.
When we reached the Seven Falls turn off, we made a side trip to the falls to relax and eat. After a nice break, we hoofed it back to the parking lot. With the added side trip to falls, we put in close to 18 miles.
This is a great hike! It is long but not particularly difficult. We took mini breaks to take photos and admire the beauty all around us. We didn't take our planned lunch break at the Eastfork-Bear Canyon Trail junction as there wasn't anyplace dry enough to sit down. There is lots of water everywhere in the canyon right now and the Seven Falls were flowing nicely!
Namaste,
