Hiked Go John trail today in Cave Creek. Still lots of flowers- desert bluebell, desert chicory, lupines, poppies, hedgehog cactus in bloom. My daughter heard and then saw a rattle snake just off the trail.

Beautiful morning!

We hiked the Waterfall Trail today around noon. LOTS of people. Next time we are going early in the morning to escape the crowd. There was still lots of yellow Brittlebrush along the path. I was suprised to see the waterfall actually trickling down into a small pool of water at the top of the trail. It has to be spectacular after a rain. We turned off the the long Black Rock loop and were rewarded with peace and quiet - only saw one other person on the whole loop. Again lots of brittlebrush, yellow poppies, and lots of hedgehog cactus in bloom.
