We did a little overnighter in the Supes for New Years. The plan of our 4 person group was to hit the Dutchman from the Peralta TH at 10 AM. However; we got a late start on New Year's Day due to some equipment problems that some of our group were having. We got it all worked out and did not start the hike until 2 PM.

We had a beautiful and uneventful hike back to our campsite where Dutchman meets Bluff Springs. We arrived right at sundown and just had enough day light to set up camp. The Bluff Spring still has plenty of water running.

The next morning, we did a little day hike a little further up Dutchman's to a nice hilltop view and then returned to camp for lunch. We planned on starting our hike out to the TH via Bluff Springs trail at 1:30 PM. But, more delays came up and we did not start back until 4 PM. We ended up doing the last hour and a half of our hike in the dark. It was VERY slow hiking in the dark and coming down Bluff Springs. You had to pay very close attention to every step. But all and all it was a great trip!

After hearing about our trip on Christmas Day, several friends wanted to come out and hike this trail. 6 of us headed out for a great little day hike up Bluff to Terrapin. We had lunch around the Bluff Saddle and head back.

Awesome hike in the rain on Christmas. Took a few friends out there who have never hiked this area. I perfer this route over the over-used Peralta trail. We made it out just before Terrapin, had lunch and headed back.

1st trip to the Narrows and we loved it. 6 of us hit the trail around 10 AM. We got a little lost on our way to the mouth of the canyon. We made our way up to the waterfall and had lunch. We headed back and to the cliffs and we had to jump in from a few of the lower ledges. Great times and we will be back again next season!

Being our first time on this route, we missed the trailhead for Bluff Springs and went up Peralta by mistake at first. We relized our mistake about a mile in and turned around. We got on the right path and started heading up Bluff Springs. Awesome views and the water was runing in several spots. We ended up only making it about 1/2 of the route before we had to turn around do to daylight. We will hit this one again later in the year when the weather cools off again.

This was our 1st overnight backpacking trip - awesome time! My son Tyler (13 yrs old), my brother and I hit the trail about 8am on Friday. Great hike to the village. Be sure to get out of the way of the mule trains. They do not yeild to hikers! :-)

Yes, the village and the trails had more garbage than we would like to see. But once you get down to the falls it, does not matter!

The weather was very hot and the nights were even warm. We slept on top of our sleeping bags with the tent doors open.

We will be back down again next year!
