:D It was a beautiful day in the Chiracahuas as me and my son took a hike on the Echo Canyon Loop and went through the wonderland of rocks. The weather was clear, but there was a fire to the south of us which posed no threat to our hike, but did make the sky a bit hazy.

We did not complete the loop, but went down the the entire Echo Canyon trail and back up due to my son wanting to go back with fellow little hikers back up the trail. The grottoes were fantastic and were places where one could keep cool. The footing was a little unsure with a lot of loose rocks, but we had good hiking shoes which made the hike an enjoyable one.

Do camp out at the Bonita Campground and take advantage of the wonderful scenery. Chiracahua is a hidden nugget in southeast Arizona that one should look into to hike.

I went on this hike with members of my church group on the 7th of May and it was a nice hike where my son had fun and it took just three short hours to complete. The weather was clear and there was a very faint breeze if any at all. It was around 75 degrees when we started the hike and the temps rose a few degrees over the duration of the hike. We had a short lunch at the spring where the high walls of the cliff over us kept us cool. The only problem on the hike was the numerous bugs that accompanied us for about half of the trip. A great hike for those who do not want a lot of elevation gain. Any summer hiking must take place early in the morning.

Me and my family decided to take a daytrip to Fort Bowie and it is one of the few National Park sites where one actually has to hike to the vistor's center. The hike was a pleasant experience which took us past various historical sites that took place during the Apache Wars of the late 19th Century. The hike took a total of about two hours, but we had to hurry back to the trailhead as it was getting dark. The park ranger was friendly and my son helped to lower the flag at the fort at the end of the day. Our total time at the ranger station was about a half an hour. This is a great place for a family hike. :D

A beautiful day of hiking on a Sunday Afternoon as I took my wife and seven-year old son to the Treasure Loop hike. The winds were light and the area aurrounding the trail was extremely green from the recent rainfall. The hike was fast as the elevation gain was spread out over a mile leading up to the Green Boulder at the midway point of the hike. We are all newbies to hiking and the trip for us was a pleasant one execpt for the bugs that were jumping around the green shrubbery. We were going to go for a moonlight hike instead but I had to get my son into bed for school the next day. Highly recommend for new hikers. :)

Went on this hike with my family to explore a nice cave at Coronado National Memorial as the other hikes at the memorial were longer and would delay our trip back home. The gain was very sharp for such a short hike and my wife had some difficulty. There were plenty of switchbacks and the last portion of the hike was loaded with steps including some between boulders. The cave was expansive, but did not go in far as my back was acting up. The weather was outstanding and we took backs memories of this unsung national memorial near Sierra Vista, AZ. :)

This was the first major hike for me and my family including my seven-year old son who was excited to hike this wonderful trail. We visited the Visitor Center and bought some hats before we went up at 10:30 a.m. The weather was nice with some high clouds and some light rain in the middle of the hike. The hike was very challenging for my wife especially coming back down the trail with the many steps that are at the head of the trail.

We made it back down as the sun went down just before they closed the gates. The views were wonderful and just prayed to thank God for giving us the energy to reach Wasson Peak.

Great hike for everybody :D

This hike was the first one for our family for a national monument. As stated in the page on this hike, reservations were required to visit the upper cliff dwellings and we started out from Tempe at 7:30 for a two hour drive to the monument. All 15 people showed up for the tour and it was a light rain on the beginning of our hike and intensified as we went up the trail. The trail consisted of going through a creek that had some running water plus plenty of switchbacks. It was cold, but the hike was satisfying for our family. We also went to teh lower cliff dwelling later in the day.
