Arrived at approximately 8:45 AM. started up the trail at that time. We ended up going a little slower than "power walking" speed simply because this trail was a lot more difficult for me (lots of hazards in the trail). finished the round trip back at the trail head at noon. here is the link for the course (including elevation guide): http://ridewithgps.com/routes/313811. this was for the El Tour De Mesa bike ride. I completed this ride with a riding partner who is also my regular tandem partner. we used a Ventana El Conquistador tandem Mountain Bike outfitted with Hookworm Urban Explorer tires. total gross weight of the bike and riders was 560 lbs.the last 6 miles of the course included a 3.7 mile 2% grade climb which accounted for 80% of the AEG for this run. I wish I had photos or even a video to link. still, not too shabby for a blind stoker and a 65 pound tandem mountain bike. :y:

my first hike since going totally blind. did pretty well.
followed Tortoise Hiker using sound (sleigh bells clipped to his ankles).
Also did some fingernail hiking (I do love to live a little on the edge).
looking forward to more hikes.
