Last of the N. Rim Hikes we did during our recent trip there. This hike is a jewel of a short hike. Saw the sphinx moth and got a few good pics of it. Seepage from the rocks above was cooling. The scenic views of the canyon from there were fantastic.

Our first of several hikes during our North Rim trip. With our great friends, the Houffs from Texas, we headed out to immediately find ourselves immersed in birds....female Western tanager, spotted towhee, yellow warbler, black headed grosbeak. Made it to the Lodge just in time to avoid a noisy summer monsoon thunderstorm. Cold beer at the saloon sure tasted good!

Deb and I began at bridge...hiked about 1/2 mile, photographing flowers. There are beginning to be a few species showing their lovely faces.

Excellent hike with good friends, Dan and Christy Pratt. Took our time. Enjoyed the wildflowers and scenery. Met a total of 3 people on the journey. Christy made turkey pastrami sandwiches, apples, plenty of Gatoraide. This will become one of my top hikes for this area. We live in Flagstaff and this will be at the top. Will be a great hike during the Aspen show in October.

This is a cool hike for Sedona. Not too crowded on the trail. Took pics below and above. Not a bad climb. Typical beauty for Sedona Hike. Went with our good friends, Dan and Christy Pratt. Ate great Mexican food at El Rincon. A great day in paradise!

:) Great place to go for a short half day hike from Flagstaff. We were the only ones there! The trail is well maintained and marked. When you arrive at the Keyhole Sink, it is like another world there. We could hear the cricket frogs before we got to the water hole at the base of the rocks.

I was able to photograph the ancient Indian rock scribing....

Very pretty day.....clear and around 68 degrees....will do it again!
